Archival Project:
Forgotten Zine Archive, Dublin, Ireland / 2004-7

The Forgotten Zine Archive was a collection of over 1500 zines, underground magazines, and related publications, organised and collated by artist Ciarán Walsh, and enabled by the large donations of the private zine collections of a number of individuals.

As well an engaging in ongoing archival work, the Forgotten Zine Archive operated public reading times during the Sunday cafés of The Warehouse, and later in the various locations of the Seomra Spraoi social centre. Additionally, it co-organised the exhibition and reading-event Zine Show (2006) at Anthology Books and played a central role in the contribution of artist Sarah Pierce to the Irish Pavilion of the 51st Venice Biennale, Italy (2005), and in the follow-up exhibition at the Lewis Glucksman Gallery, Cork, Ireland (2006).

The content of the Forgotten Zine Archive remains currently in trust with the Seomra Spraoi social centre.
